These include the beauty and fragility of “the American earth,” the inseparable bond of man and nature and the moral obligation our present owes to the future. Written and directed by Ric Burns. Co-Produced for Sierra Club Productions and Steeplechase Films. The film is a presentation of PBS’ s “American Experience.” Winner, the Alfred I. duPont Columbia University Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.
