Presented with theВ Truman National Security Project

The Burden is the first documentary of its kind to tell the story of our dependence on fossil fuels as the greatest long‐term national security threat confronting the U.S., and how the military is leading our transition away from oil. The troops are crying out, in the words of Gen. James Mattis, “to unleash us from the tether of fuel.” But is Congress listening? Directed, produced and written by Roger Sorkin.

Discussion with filmmaker Roger Sorkin; Hon. Sharon E. Burke, Former Assistant Secretary, Defense for Operational Energy Plans and Programs; CPT James Goudreau, Director of Policy & Partnership, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, and Kevin Johnson, Iraq war veteran, West Point graduate, Chicago Chapter Director of the Truman Project, follows screening.
