The Messenger

Work-in-progress Screening

The Messenger follows songbirds on a visually sumptuous yet perilous journey through our changing world. We touch down in the dense metropolis of New York City,В forsaken suburbs, northern forests, the tropics of Central America, Turkey’s far-east, and Germanyв’s night clubs. The birds have something to tell us, and the message is not a comfortable one. The film engages with a global army of scientists, ecologists and bird enthusiasts mobilizing in the race against time. Directed by Su Rynard. Produced by Joanne Jackson, SongbirdSOS Productions and Films Г  Cinq.

Discussion with filmmaker Su Rynard, filmmaker Joanne Jackson, Andrew Farnsworth, Research Associate, Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Peter Marra, Head, Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, follows screening.

Wednesday, March 25, 8:15 p.m.

Tickets: $10, available atВВ and at E Street Cinema Box Office.

E Street Cinema, 555 11th St., NW (Metro: Metro Center, Gallery Place-Chinatown)
